Just under the two landmark depictions, the Orient Express herself, the original steam train model along with a map of the route – indicating the principal cities the train traveled through.  The furled ribbon at the base of the coin also indicates the French and Turkish flags and the complete style is created in the Art Nouveau style reminiscent and prevalent of the era. The obverse of the coin characteristics an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS.
